James Watkins charts Matt Hagen's fall from Gotham street kid to Hollywood star, disfigured by a crime boss and remade by a treatment that warps his grip on reality and sends him down an all-consuming path of revenge. Tom Rhys Harries leads a sharp cast with Naomi Ackie and Eddie Marsan, and the transformation horror and escalating stakes are built for a big screen. This is the kind of destructive, momentum-driven ride an action fan wants.

Georgia Oakley's Sense and Sensibility is exactly the kind of warm, witty swoon that makes an evening together glow, following two sisters learning what the heart will risk for love. Daisy Edgar-Jones and Caitríona Balfe bring real tenderness to a tale that lands at 79% on Rotten Tomatoes and 7.2 on IMDb, so you will leave talking about which sister you are. Beautiful, romantic, and deeply relatable.

Set in 1993, this one drops estranged fighters Ryu and Ken back into the World Warrior Tournament when Chun-Li recruits them for a brutal clash that hides a deadly conspiracy. Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo anchor the fights, with David Dastmalchian in the mix, and the kinetic combat is exactly what the big screen is for. It sits at 6.2 on IMDb, so temper expectations on the story, but the action delivers.
