Street Fighter

A big-screen brawler: tournament fights, old grudges, and a conspiracy to punch through.

Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li get pulled into the World Warrior Tournament, a brutal clash of fists and fury with a deadly conspiracy buried underneath. Director Kitao Sakurai keeps it kinetic, and a cast led by Andrew Koji and David Dastmalchian turns rival fighters and old demons into real stakes. It plays in English and plays loud, so catch it big.

Sacrifice

A glitzy charity gala detonates into a hostage siege: chaos, big names, fast fuse.

A movie star mid-crisis gets taken hostage by a radical warrior and her followers, and the star-studded gala collapses into chaos. Romain Gavras throws Chris Evans, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Vincent Cassel into a tense, kinetic siege, with Salma Hayek Pinault and John Malkovich filling out a loaded cast. The existential-crisis detours can slow the pace, but the momentum and the firepower carry it.

The Uprising

Paul Greengrass goes medieval: a peasant rebellion swinging for the throne.

A humble peasant ignites a rebellion and unites an army of commoners against the King across plague-ravaged 14th-century England. Paul Greengrass brings his kinetic, handheld eye to the clash, with Andrew Garfield and Jamie Bell leading the charge in a desperate fight for justice and survival. Screenings are thin this week, so plan ahead if you want this on a big screen.
